Postponement of the HARMONIE FESTIVAL 2023 – New date: 9 to 12 May 2024

Dear friends of choral music and folklore, dear ensemble leaders and organizers,

in recent weeks, we, the festival organization in the relevant committees and the committees of our association, have intensively dealt with what the national and global effects of the corona pandemic and the terrible Russian war of aggression against Ukraine can mean for the organization and implementation and ultimately also for the success of our international HARMONIE FESTIVAL in May 2023.

In a weighing of all possible risks and scenarios taking into account various – also economic – aspects for the festival itself and our association „Harmonie Lindenholzhausen e.V.“ we have now finally and with a heavy heart come to the decision to postpone our festival, originally advertised for 2023, by one year. The next HARMONIE FESTIVAL will therefore take place in 2024.

We are very sure that we will be able to offer and carry out a HARMONIE FESTIVAL on the new date, which will be in no way inferior to the previous HARMONIE FESTIVALS in terms of atmosphere, scope, internationality, musical-artistic quality and its unifying character.

We ask for your understanding for this decision. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us as the person responsible for the organizing association „Harmonie Lindenholzhausen e.V.” and the festival organization.

The call for applications for the HARMONIE FESTIVAL remains unchanged. Information on this can also be found on our festival homepage, which has already been updated for 2024:

Please remain friendly with us. Let`s stay connected.

Yours sincerely,

Manfred Neunzerling                                       Marco Löw                                 Gerhard Neunzerling-Dernbach

Special parking spaces for coaches are signposted at railway station „Limburg Süd“ (ICE-Station). This railway station is directly opposite motorway exit 43 Limburg-Süd, exit coming from Frankfurt.

There will be a minibus service (shuttle) for bus drivers between the car park for coaches and the festival ground during the festival. Partipant groups will receiv more detailed information in due time

The parking possibilites in Lindenholzhausen for cars are very limited. For car users we recommend travelling by train.

By train

The nearest railway station with long-distance traffic is „Limburg Süd“ (ICE Station). This station is 3 km away from the festival site. The public bus service to Lindenholzhausen is inconvenient during the festival days. We recommend ordering a taxi at the ICE Station „Limburg Süd“.

You can reach Lindenholzhausen on the regional train line Frankfurt/Main – Limburg/Lahn. Trains usually run every hour.

From the train stop Lindenholzhausen follow the street with the name „Bahnhofstraße“ uphill into the village on foot for about 750 metres. Then turn left into the street „Am Wingert“. After 50 metres you will reach the festival ground.

Where exactly does the festival take place?

The festival ground has the address „Am Wingert, 65551 Limburg-Lindenholzhausen“.

On google maps you will find the festival ground at „HARMONIE FESTIVAL, Festivalground„.

Please note:
The street „Am Wingert“ will be completely closed to car traffic for the entire duration of the festival. In addition, other roads to the festival ground are closed to traffic or have parking bans.

About the festival

From May 9 to 12, 2024, choirs and folklore groups with thousands of participants from throughout the world will be coming together in Lindenholzhausen, the „smallest festival town in Germany“, where the eight HARMONIE FESTIVAL is going to take place.

In May 2017, more than 200 choirs and folklore groups took part in the seventh HARMONIE FESTIVAL. About 6.000 participants represented 35 different nations and cultures. Patron of the HARMONIE FESTIVAL 2017 was the Prime Minister of the German Federal State Hesse, Volker Bouffier.

Lindenholzhausen belongs to the city of Limburg/Lahn, which is considered one of the most attractive places in Germany with its picturesque old town and cathedral, founded more than 750 years ago.  All members of the Male Choir “HARMONIE Lindenholzhausen” with friends and other helpers work on a honorary basis for the festival.

‚Olympic atmosphere at the HARMONIE FESTIVAL‘ – is how the ‚International Choral Bulletin‘ (ICB) titled its report on the HARMONIE FESTIVAL 2011.

With its cultural diversity, high artistic quality and a wide range of national and international choir and folklore competitions and events the forthcoming HARMONIE FESTIVAL will certainly reconfirm its outstanding reputation of a wonderful festival atmosphere and as one of the most outstanding music festivals in the world.
